Food Fermentation One Day Courses

Saturday Oct. 15th 2016 - 10am sharp to 4pm with lunch at 12.30pm.
Get a Taste for Fermented Food  – A Beginners Course.
Explore making different organic sauerkrauts and discover how to make Kombucha and the health attributes of water, coconut water and Milk Kefir. Learn how you can produce your very own Kombucha at home. Take home a 500ml jar of organic Sauerkraut you prepare in class.

Saturday Nov. 5th 2016 - 10am sharp to 4pm with lunch at 12.30pm.
Fermented Food and Drinks from Japan  – Master Class.
In this Masterclass we immerse ourselves in Japanese pickling and their ancient art of fermentation. Here students will enjoy a hands on fermentation and pickling class where you’ll discover fermented cuisine that will challenge your imagination. Take home a 500ml jar of Japanese pickles (Tsukemono) that you prepare in class. A traditional Japanese fermented lunch is included – it will be an amazing day, and we really look forward to seeing you here.

Saturday Dec. 3rd 2016 - 10am sharp to 4pm with lunch at 12.30pm.
Fermented Food and Summer Beverages  – Master Class.

This Masterclass is our final course for 2016. Explore making fermented food for summer, discover how to make a selection of refreshing and healthy, natural drinks, cordials and tonics, such as Beet Kvass, Kanji, Fruit Soda and Natural Ginger Beer. Compliment this with making delicious Kimchi and brined/cultured vegetables and you have a very healthy summer menu that will be the envy of family and friends. Take home a 500ml jar of organic cultured/brined vegetables that you prepare in class.

Stay the night before or the night of your day course and enjoy the Southern Highlands experience:

All courses cost $220 inc GST per person. Accommodation at Eling Forest Estate starts at $75 per person share room. For less than $300 per person for your course and accommodation why not stay in this lovely country destination and see other attractions* nearby the following day.

Your course cost includes all course produce, jars, ingredients and a light lunch.
